This is the anti-drug arm of the Adventist Youth Ministry. It is designed to offer hope and comfort to drug addicts, their families and depressed persons. Friends Forever believes in the power of the Holy Spirit to change individuals on a permanent basis and does not subscribe to the popular philosophy “once an addict always an addict”.
Rather, Friends Forever offers a significant difference from most institutions which give service to those who are in recovery. Its challenge to them is “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36 (NKJV).
Friends Forever was launched on December 24th 1984, in St Augustine, Trinidad. At present, Friends Forever has three Chapters - Erin, Sangre Grande and Laventille. These chapters’ serve mainly as support groups to recovering “soldiers”. A rehabilitation center is also currently under construction in the North-West region.
